The Jenny Wren has been an Inn since 1716 when it was known as the 'White Horse'. The White Horse then served a multitude of purposes (apart from being the local watering hole) holding Sunday Church services, local weddings and criminal trials. After one such criminal trial, the suspect, after being found 'not guilty' celebrated his newfound freedom having quite a few drinks in the pub. After celebrating for the rest of the day, he left to make his way home and promptly fell down a nearby well and died... which could 'well' answer the ghostly, unsettled spirit which still to this day walks around the pub after closing time.

Much of the history you can still see today when you walk into the bar - but beware! if you are tall you may feel it as well! on the low beamed ceilings. Our 'Pub Grub' is renown in the local area and the menu - displayed on the blackboards - changes daily and (see sample right).

If you are looking for a traditional English Country Inn, then you have found it. The Jenny Wren Inn is the English Country Pub at its very best.
